Channel 5 creates the subversive psychological thriller Anne Boleyn Anne Boleyn (tentatively named), which will not be a historical drama. The three-episode series is written by newcomer Eve Hedderwick Turner, directed by Lynsey Miller, and produced by Faye Ward, the producer of another Boleyn Girl. The show will examine Anne Boleyn's downfall in the form of a psychological thriller, showing the last few months of her life from a feminist perspective. The story reshapes Anne Boleyn's struggle with the Tudor patriarchal society in England, her desire to secure her daughter's future, and her cruel fact that she failed to give birth to a male heir to Henry VIII.
