The show was inspired by GLOW, a very short but popular show in the 1980s, a fictional story about Ruth Wilder (Allison Bree Alison Brie), an unemployed actress in Los Angeles in the 1980s, who finally found her last chance to become famous: but she had to tuck herself into the ornate tights of the women's wrestling world first. In addition to working with 12 rare Hollywood insiders, Ruth has to compete with former soap opera actress Debbie Egan (Betty Gilpin Betty Gilpin). Debbie left the film industry because she was pregnant, but had to go back to her old job because life was not as perfect as she had imagined. The team leader is Sam Sylvia (Mark Malone Marc Maron), a B-rated film director with ups and downs and bad luck. Now he must take 14 women to the Avenue of Fame in the wrestling world.
