The ABC comedy Black-Ish, which was booked in May for the Freeform spin-off, is now renamed "growing up is not easy grown-ish" (formerly known as "college-ish"). Its first season is 13 episodes and is scheduled to air on January 3 next year. "growing up is not easy" tells the story that after Zoey left his family and came to college, he soon found that life here could not go well. Deon Cole, the mother actor, will continue to play Charlie in the spin-off series, who works part-time as a marketing professor at the university. Emily Arlook, who plays Miriam, a freshman at the University of Southern California, is very frank with people in "know-it-all," which was originally played by Mallory Sparks in the mother play. Chris Parnell plays the director of affairs at the University of Southern California and Trevor Jackson as a socially conscious sophomore who has appeared in the backdoor audition.
