The story of Wheel of Hell takes place after the American Civil War, and the protagonist is a former Confederate soldier. In order to avenge the killing of his wife, he came to the far west alone. After a series of events, he became a legend in the construction of the Trans-American Railway. The title of the play "Wheel of Hell" is a nickname for a small town on the central hub of the Great Railway, and it is also the story site of the play.
