On one side is the know-it-all of survival; on the other is the food-oriented gourmet, and the two will be hungry for a week at the same time and then lose their bags in the wilderness. Hungry and helpless, the only way for them to maintain their calories is to use local materials. In order to survive, any disgusting food has to be swallowed, including long-legged insects, poisonous plants, ugly animals, and even frog egg mucus, any natural favor within reach. Matt, the British chef in the Mexican Valley, and Josh, a veteran New Zealand hunter, came to the Bronze Canyon in northern Mexico, where they lived in the wilderness for seven days with only basic equipment. The purpose of this trip is to prove that they can make good use of nature.
