Central Intelligence Agency officer Ava Geller (Michelle Monaghan) discovers that a man (Mahdi Derby) has gained international attention by disturbing public order, so she begins to investigate the identity of the man. As he attracts more and more followers who think he is working miracles, the global media is becoming more and more obsessed with this charismatic figure. Geller must solve the mystery as soon as possible: whether he is a saint sent by God or a liar who can disrupt the world geopolitical order. As the story unfolds, a variety of perspectives are intertwined, including an Israeli intelligence officer (Tomo Heathley), a Texas missionary (John Ortiz) and his daughter (Stephania Owen), a Palestinian refugee (Saeed El Alami) and the reporter who covered the story (Jane Adams).
