The show focuses on Charlie Manks, played by Zachary Quintu, a supernatural character who eats the breath of a child's life to stay young. After eating the children's anger, Manks stores their bodies in Christmas Paradise. This is a cold, twisted, Manks-imagined Christmas village, where every day is Christmas, it is illegal to be unhappy, and children gradually become ghouls. Ashley Cornings ("Miss Fisher" and "the goldfinch") plays the heroine, Vic McQueen, a girl from New England, whose appearance threatens the entire world of Manks.
