How would you react if they still sound and look exactly the same as they were before they died, as if they had never grown old? Is this a miracle or madness? Or. That's not reality at all? People living in Arcadia have encountered this strange thing about the return of the dead, and their lives have been completely changed ever since. An eight-year-old American boy (Landon Gimenez) woke up alone in a rice field in a remote Chinese countryside. No one knows who he is or how he got there. The boy, who identified himself as Jacob, recalled that he was an American who lived in Acadia, Missouri. Agent Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps) of the United States Immigration, Naturalization and Customs Enforcement Service took Jacob back to the United States and sent him to Acadia to verify his identity. Martin does not believe in the so-called "mysterious return". He suspects that illegal child trafficking is the truth.
