The six-episode Anglo-Australian co-production "Ten Pound Poms", produced by Sex Education production company Eleven and Stan, is written by Strangers and Danny Brocklehurst of Friends. The story is based on the then immigration aid program ("ten pounds will take you to Australia") and revolves around a group of Britons who came to Australia from their war-torn hometown to seek a new life after World War II (1956). The protagonist will be the Robert family, who will come to the new continent on the other side of the earth, and everyone must find a way to change the situation. The poor living conditions in immigrant hotels and local attitudes towards outsiders have become unimaginable tests, and those traveling with the Robert family cannot ignore these challenges.
