When the new Netflix Chinese film "Marriage on the other side" (the movie version of the novel "Ghost Bride") was announced, it also issued a pilot notice. Starring Wu Kangren ("termites: desire riddle", "next stop, Happiness"), Huang Xiejia ("Baomi Cha") and Lin Ludi ("Sea King") appeared with a strong sense of age. Adapted from the Chinese-American writer Zhu Yangxi's novel of the same name, the story is a mixture of Chinese folk customs such as ghost marriage, romantic love and supernatural elements. Set in the 1890s, Malacca in the colonial period tells the story of Lilan, the daughter of a respectable Chinese family, who was asked to be the "ghost bride" of the Lin family of the rich-- to marry the family's dead son. She can afford food and clothing, but marrying a dead man will follow her for the rest of her life, making it more difficult to escape. Since then, Lilan was involved in the underworld, discovered the dark secret of her husband's family, and also discovered the past of her own family. Directed by Malaysian directors Guo Xiuzhuan (Guang) and he Yuheng (Ms. K). The screenwriting team is from Hollywood and Taiwan, led by Wu Kai Yu, one of the screenwriters of Hannibal and the Flash. The launch date has not yet been determined.
