After Abra's husband died, she and her 8-year-old daughter Valda depended on each other. To support her family, Abra runs a handmade bakery in her Casablanca home, featuring homemade bread and traditional Moroccan cakes, and the kitchen is connected to the street through a metal shutter. One day, a young woman named Samia broke into their quiet life. Samia is pregnant and wants to look for a job.
