The parents of Simon (Devon Bostick), a middle school student, were killed in a car accident. They have been living with their uncle Tom all these years. In the last days of his grandfather's life, Simon recorded his grandfather's memories with video and collaged a blurred image of his parents. Simon's teacher Sabin (Arsin é e Khanjian) assigns the next translation assignment, which is about the narrator's recollection of his parents' involvement in a terrorist attack. Simon is integrated with the narrator in the process of finishing the assignment, which makes the students mistakenly think that he is talking about his private affairs in public. Sabin asks Simon to continue to create, and the interactive discussion among the students in the online video is quite heated. Some teachers, parents and even strangers are also involved. They have expressed their views on the son of the "terrorist". Tom, who lives on a trailer, ran into Sabin. After some contact, Tom found that he was actually the ex-wife of his dead brother-in-law, and a part of Tom's mental burden that he refused to uncover was questioned by Sabin. The film was voted best Canadian film by the jury of the 2008 Tokyo Film Festival.
