The film is based on a true story. In 1942, World War II was in full swing. On January 16th, three strangers, a pilot played by Garrett Delahut (12 years a Slave, a Ring Messenger), a bomber played by Felton and a radio correspondent played by Jack Abel (Percy Jackson and the Thief of Fire), set off on a reconnaissance mission in a U.S. Navy plane. The plane ran out of fuel and had to make a forced landing in the South Pacific. The trio had no food, no water, no supplies, only a 4-foot-wide, 8-foot-long yellow life raft that allowed them to drift on the dangerous sea. They must support each other to overcome hunger, storms and shark attacks and find ways to get the life raft to safe land.
