In 1950, Peter and Margit, a Hungarian couple, were forced to flee their country to the United States with their four-year-old daughter Maria, but painfully left their youngest daughter Suzanne, who had only been a few months old, to be raised by loving adoptive parents. Six years later, through unremitting efforts, the American Red Cross brought the little girl to her new home in Los Angeles. In the face of this sudden change, the bewildered Suzanne was so confused, lonely and helpless. After growing up, Suzanne was full of rebellion but always sad.
