Joseph (Gene Kelly Gene Kelly) is a marine who saves a man named Chris (Frank Sinatra Frank Sinatra) in an accident. Joseph's heroic feat gave him a four-day vacation, which meant that Joseph could finally go to Hollywood to meet his long-lost girlfriend. Joseph wanted to enjoy a sweet time with his girlfriend, but Chris followed him cheeky, which made Joseph feel very crazy. The appearance of the homeless boy Dan eased the atmosphere between the two, and gradually Joseph and Chris became best friends. One day, Chris met Susan (Katherine Grayson Kathryn Grayson) who sang there in a nightclub, and he fell in love. But Susan took a fancy to the handsome and tall Joseph.
