On a winter day in Paris in 1885, a 19-year-old girl was afflicted with inexplicable hysteria. In order to raise hospital funds, Professor Charcot, a brain neurologist, used hypnosis to activate the disease in her body at the presentation meeting. The unmanned virgin unexpectedly appeared some of the most exciting symptoms of sex that could not be simulated in full view of the public, which alarmed the medical community and made the young girl a "star" case of the professor. However, the huge desire within the young girl is also awakened unconsciously, and under the wrestling of gender and class, the two step by step cross the moral boundary between medical treatment and illness.
