The film tells the experience of the protagonist Noriko (Ai Hashimoto), who is somewhat introverted and negative. Noriko lost her mother (sunflower Miyazaki) when she was 10 years old, and her mother knew she didn't have many days left, so she agreed to give her a birthday card every year before she turned 20. Although Noriko experienced various troubles such as friendship, love and marriage when she was growing up, birthday cards have always been her source of strength and accompanied her to grow up.
