Yoshiko Kono, 32, is a working woman who works hard in a travel agency in Tokyo. She left her hometown in Meishan, Tokushima Prefecture, for many years. At that time, she was estranged from her mother, Longzi (Horiko Hashimoto). Now a critically ill phone call from her mother drags her back to her hometown, which is both familiar and unfamiliar. Although years have passed, the relationship between mother and daughter never seems to have eased. In the mouth of Longzi, Yuanzi's father always passed away at an early age, but Yuanzi inadvertently learned from his uncle that her father was still living in health somewhere. After several turns, Yuko decided to return to Tokyo and tried to find out the whereabouts of his father. With the aggravation of his mother's illness, Yuzi gradually eliminated the grievances in her heart and decided to help her mother realize her final wish. This film won three awards of best music, best photography and best lighting at the 31st Japan Film Academy.
