Black is Black, adapted from comics, is an animated film suitable for adults. The United States in the late 1960s was full of passion and excitement: anti-cultural and political movements, sexual revolutions, the proliferation of psychedelic drugs, movies that incorporated social issues into stories, fictional films about the real world, highly stylized painting styles and carefully selected soundtracks that took us into the 1960s and embarked on extraordinary musical adventures. From the six-day war in Palestine to the assassination of che Guevara in Bolivia five months ago, the film was shrouded in the psychedelic atmosphere of the first music festivals. Manex, a Basque journalist from the western-French border, is on a secret mission. He helped Black Panthers, wanted by the US government, flee to Cuba, where he stumbled across an underground velvet band, a demonstration after the death of human rights activist Malcan X, James Brown, the godfather of soul music, and Jimi Hendrix, the god of guitar, the United States CIA and the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, and, of course, shared romantic songs and used LSD with hippie girls who advocated love and freedom.
