The film tells the life story of the famous American social activist Caesar Chavez (Cesar E Chavez). He is a Mexican-born American labor activist and leader of the United Farm Workers Union. In the 20th century, he ran around for better rights and fair wages for farm seasonal workers (migrant farm workers: people who migrate to find work) and finally won the sympathy and support of the people all over the country. Director Diego Luna says there are many people around the world who need great men like Chavez to help them, not only in the world of farm workers. He hopes that the film will draw more attention to the issue of immigration reform in the United States, as well as many unrepresented communities in some countries. For Diego Luna, film is a tool for adapting the world, and it is happening everywhere.
