The film is based on real events and is largely based on a memoir "the Story of a Father" written by Geoffrey's father, the protagonist. Serial killer Geoffrey, who is gay himself, was born in 1960 and was killed by his roommate while in prison in 1994. Geoffrey killed a total of 17 people, and then not only ate parts of their bodies, kept their skulls, painted them at home, and put them in a weird way to perform strange sexual rituals.
