World War II, Dachau concentration camp, hell on earth. The abusive Catholic priest Henry Kramer (Ulrich Matthes Ulrich Matthes) is haggard and secretly celebrates mass prayers with his cellmates. Under the endless torture and destruction, every day is like a year. One day, Kramer's mother died, and the Nazis found his use, and took the opportunity to use the name of Kramer's mother's death to allow Kramer to return to Luxembourg for nine days of mourning. Back home, Kramer soon discovered the Nazi plot. On the one hand, Gestapo Lieutenant Gebhardt (Augustdiher August Diehl) tries to use Father Kramer to persuade the local church, thus causing the local armed forces to give up resistance; on the other hand, Gebhardt also offers Kramer a very attractive condition: the release of Kramer and his imprisoned cellmates. On the one hand, it is the guilt of giving up faith and conscience to betray the nation, and on the other hand, driven by the id before the great temptation, in the face of such a difficult and painful choice, how will Father Kramer finally choose, nine days will come to an end? where will his fate go? This film is based on the detention of Catholic Father Kramer.
