German director Detlev Buck is also working on a new film at home, putting German writer Daniel Kehlmann's Measurement World, which has topped Der Spiegel's bestseller list for 37 consecutive weeks, on screen and shooting it in 3D. In terms of what the two works have in common, apart from bestsellers, they all have intersecting lives and exciting adventure stories. The protagonists of "measuring the World" are two strange geniuses in Germany at the end of the 18th century, namely, the naturalist Humboldt and the mathematician Gauss, who carried out "measuring the world" in their own ways until their lives intersected at last. Daniel Kehlmann was only 30 years old when he wrote the book. Measuring the World, which was funded by Berlin Film Board this year along with Michael Hanek's new film Love (starring Isabel Huppert), is currently being polished by Detlev Buck. The exact start time is uncertain, but there is no doubt that it will be the largest 3D film ever produced in Germany.
