The story begins with Anil (later Jimmy) from Mumbai, where Jimmy and artist Raju (Rajesh Khanna) perform on guitar and drum instruments on the street. According to the traditional Indian film routine, Anil makes "friends" with rich little girl Rita (Rita), which is obviously not allowed. She was bumped into by the little girl's father, Mr. Oberoi, who naturally beat up Anil and her mother on a date, which eventually led to the displacement of the Anil family.
