The story is based on the life story of Ernesto Freddy, a Bolivian of Japanese descent who joined the guerrilla army of Cuban revolutionary hero Che Guevara and was named "Ernesto" by Che Guevara. Born in the former village of Ernesto in October 1941 as a Japanese Bolivian, Freddy was born into a wealthy family. as a teenager, he often cared for his poor friends when he saw that many poor people lived in a society with a huge gap between the rich and the poor. He decided to go into medicine for the sake of mankind, and he met Che Guevara when he was studying in the Cuban medical school, which changed his life. Then, hearing about the military coup in his native Bolivia, Ernesto Freddy joined Che Guevara's guerrillas and was determined to give his life for his people.
