15-year-old Mia (Katie Jarvis Katie Jarvis) is rebellious and eccentric, causing trouble not only by being expelled from school but also by leaving her best friend. Mia loves dancing, but not many people seem to care about her passionate moves until a man named Connor (Michael Fassbender Michael Fassbender) shows up. Connor was his mother's boyfriend, and during his days of living with his mother, Mia was attracted to the handsome and friendly man. With Connor's support and encouragement, Mia got a dance interview, and her relationship with Connor went a step further. However, the real world is not as beautiful as imagined. The film is her second feature film directed by British cutting-edge female director Andrea Arnold, who won the jury award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006 for "the Red Road." As a competition film at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, "Fish Tank" received eight nominations at the 2009 British Independent Film Festival.
