Peru in South America at the beginning of the 20th century. Fitzgerald (Klaus Kinski Klaus Kinski), a white man who is obsessed with opera, is known by locals as the dreamer "Fitzcalado". Fitzcalado often makes incomprehensible moves, especially when he enjoys the performance of the world-famous tenor Caruso at the Amazon Grand Theater in Brazil. He came up with the crazy idea of building a grand theater in a small town in Peru. In order to get enough money, Fitzcalado accepted the mission offered to him by the local rubber tycoon to harvest in the mysterious and scary forest of Uguilla, and a thrilling journey began. The film "Boating on Land", directed by the famous German director Werner Herzog, won the Best Director Award in the main competition unit of the 35th Cannes Film Festival in 1982 and was nominated for the Palme d'Or Awards and the 40th Golden Globe Awards for Best Foreign language Film in 1983.
