Florence Foster Jenkins, an American soprano in the early 20th century, was welcomed by the audience for her poor singing skills but excellent entertainment skills. Jenkins was so confident that he compared himself to the famous sopranos of the time Frieda Hempel and Luisa Tetrazzini, and did not mind the bursts of ridicule from the audience during the performance. She has a strict choice of venue for her performance, usually in the Ritz-Carlton Ballroom in New York City. The audience of the concert is also limited to their loyal members and some invited guests, and even to all who decide their own tickets. At the age of 76, Jenkins asked for a public performance at Carnegie Hall, and people were looking forward to it, so tickets sold out early. However, Florence Foster Jenkins died a month later.
