Directed by Yasuo Tales of Genji, this edition, which uses not only CG, but also action scenes and science fiction effects, cost more than 1 billion yen (78 million yuan) to produce and was released nationwide in Japan on December 10, 2011. The film crisscross the peace period of the original author, Purple Department (played by Miki Nakatani), and the world where Guangyuan (Dojin Shengda) is located, and the two lines are parallel. In one space, Purple Department began to create the Tale of Genji by Fujiwara (acted the role of Toshiyama), and fell in love with Fujiwara. Another space is the love entanglement between Guangyuan and the barnacle Lady (Yoko Makiki), six Imperial Resorts (Linai Tanaka), Xiyan (Lu Mingxing) and many other women created by the Purple Ministry. In the closed creative process, the Purple style Department showed a state of soul out of the body, which overlapped with the souls of the six imperial resting places that fell in love with Guangyuan and turned into creatures. Onmyoji Abe Qingming (Yosuke Wazuka) discovers the situation and begins to track down creatures.
