The father of Prince Hamlet of Denmark (Lawrence Oliver Laurence Olivier) died strangely in the garden one day. The king's brother Claudius ascended the throne and married the mother of Hamlet, the former princess. His father's sudden death, coupled with his mother's remarriage, made Hamlet unhappy all day long. One day Horatio, a good friend of Hamlet, told him that every midnight, a ghost of grief and depression appeared on the castle platform. Hamlet came to the platform in the middle of the night to meet his father's ghost. He learned from the ghost that his father had been killed by the current king Claudius. The ghost demanded that Hamlet take revenge on the murderer who usurped the throne and the princess. Hamlet, who was charged with the task of revenge, decided to hide himself by pretending to be crazy in order to spy on Claudius' every move. However, he hesitated to kill his uncle, and just as he hesitated, a troupe came to the court. He arranged a play to perform the scene of the murder of the king in dramatic form. The reaction of the king and queen enabled him to confirm the court conspiracy.
