Jean Nicholas Brother directed a romantic tragedy with a strong musical flavor, and Joan Crawford and John Goodfield both performed brilliantly in the film. Many wonderful violin performances in the film are performed by master Isaac Stein behind the scenes, which adds to the mournful atmosphere of the whole film. German composer and conductor Wexman wrote "Carmen Fantasia" for the American film "the Soul of the Silver Sea" in 1947, which is full of gypsy style and gorgeous colors, and has high requirements for performance skills. The film was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Music in 1947.
