The film is about an honest young man, Peter, who is a bricklayer. He is very filial to his parents and built a house for them himself. However, his parents' attitude towards him does not seem to have improved as a result. After that, he met his beloved woman Erica. They moved to Munich together, however, the pressure of life and financial embarrassment gradually changed Peter, a young man, and eventually became a prisoner, all just to make his wife love him. The film is considered by some critics to be Lionel Werner Fassbender's best film masterpiece.
