Chip (Sebastian Banes) is a precocious six-year-old boy who has two fathers: Cody (Trevor St. John) and Joey (Patrick Wang Wang Peizhi). A family of three lives in the quiet countryside of Tennessee. When Cody died in a car accident, Joey had to face life hard. But just as his new life began, he learned that Cody had appointed his sister as Chip's guardian in his unupdated will. After Joey took Chip to Sister Cody's house during the Thanksgiving holiday, he never saw his child again. Joey embarked on a long and desperate struggle for custody. This film puts forward another perspective on the issues of race, class and gender, which makes people reflect on the relationship between tradition and family. It is the debut film written, directed and acted by Chinese filmmaker Wang Peizhi, and was shortlisted for the 2012 American Independent Spirit Award. it is a touching work about love and affection.
