Denmark, 1940. World War II spread throughout Europe. Although Denmark claimed to be a neutral country at the beginning of the war, it was occupied by Hitler's third Reich that year. As a result, conflicts have arisen among members of the Scoff family, especially between Karl and his son Axel. Carl, the owner of a large electronics factory, tried to continue production in the factory, but in order to protect his family and employees, he had to start making products for the German market. At the same time, Axel resisted fascist persecution by joining the resistance movement. Karl's controversial cooperation with the invaders eventually led to the breakdown of his family.
