Celebration is Britain's first punk film, inspired by the excitement of a hot-dressed girl to a gay man. and the film itself is like a broken British dream, for the celebration, it does not record history, it makes history, it sees destruction, like the roaring music in the film, it is enlightening. There is no art, there is no future. The film begins and ends with a feeling of nihilism and anarchism: punk youths wander the streets, get hysterical, kill pedestrians who are stupid enough to go out alone, and then throw bodies into the dry Thames while the police laugh. People are decadent, the world is hopeless, people vent in extreme ways, but everything still seems to be useless. Only primitive, wild. Justin 07.10.07
