King Nicholas III of Belgium visited Turkey, and the queen hired documentary director Duncan to accompany him in filming, hoping to change the king's dreary image. However, this seemingly mundane foreign affairs event has become an unexpected adventure for the party. During the foreign affairs visit, the Walloon district of Belgium suddenly declared its independence. The king and his party immediately decided to return home, but the solar storm over Turkey prevented flights from taking off across the country. Eager to return to his country, the king decided to take risks and set foot in the Balkans, known as the "European powder keg", and began an arduous journey home. The ensuing troubles, witty conversations, and the king who gradually "freed himself" during the journey were all recorded by Duncan's camera and made into a bold, humorous and unique "documentary".
