In New Guinea during World War II, an uphill battle was fought between Australian and Japanese soldiers along the Kokoda Trail. The film was born out of a deep desire to tell the story of the militia in the forgotten Australian Battle on the Kokoda Trail in 1942. The creative inspiration comes from a platoon of the 39th battalion. The story intuitively shows their extraordinary courage, peer friendship, unimaginable endurance and the fearless spirit of self-sacrifice.
