Kurt and Courtney combines video scripts, conversation clips and unreleased photos to show the audience an astonishingly ugly scene. Kurt Cuben, the soul of junk rock band Nirvana and a decade-old artist selected by Rolling Stone magazine, was born in Aberdeen, Washington, a home of manual workers. It was at the beginning of the film that the filmmakers interviewed their relatives, friends and acquaintances, who had different views on suicide. Those interviewed included Aunt Mary, who gave Kurt audio equipment (she was the first to support Kurt in rock music); a high school teacher who took Kurt in and provided room and board for a year; ex-girlfriend Tracy Miranda, who had spent three years together; and friend Dylan Carlson, who bought a gun for him. Tom Grant, the private investigator employed by his wife Courtney (Tom Grant now believes that Courtney is responsible for Kurt's death); and Courtney's father, Hank Hank Harrison (Hank Harrison once said he knew best about his daughter's head.
