In 1921, a steamship carrying 260 Spanish immigrants set sail slowly towards the United States. Soon after, however, it sank near an island off the coast of Galicia, Spain. Only three women living on the island discovered the situation on the ship and rescued 50 of the passengers, thus being praised as heroes. When a reporter from Argentina came to cover the incident, he began to suspect that the accident was man-made. The rumor spread like wildfire all over the island. As the reporter's investigation gradually deepened, the truth gradually emerged. The three women who are called heroes have to face doubts, and their suspicion increases.
