This is a very simple love story, with a promise to meet again a year later on the one hand and love at first sight for three nights on the other. Between right and wrong, the one who hesitates and struggles is the heroine Natalia. It is the hero Mario who feels inconceivable that he has not heard of him for a year. On the last night, when Natalia had just laid down her defense and was ready to accept Mario's request, she found the man she had been waiting for for a year standing at the head of the bridge over there. Italian director Visconi adapted the works of Russian writer Dostoevsky, turning Russia into Venice and grand pieces into sketches. Visconti's ability to master genres is convincing.
