Famous film director Daniel Taylor (Jill Bellows) is planning a film about Afrikaans Boer women in history. His British actress girlfriend Judy coveted the role but realized she had to go to South Africa to fully accept the role. Upon arrival, she met the rugged and handsome Kobs, a young farmer with the same surname as a historical figure, and finally persuaded him to let her stay on the farm. In return, Judy will star in and direct the annual summer play with a group of loners, including Fanny herself (Eduan van Jaarsveldt) as a supporting role as Kobs's much looser brother. Unsurprisingly, when Daniel arrived for location reconnaissance, the burgeoning relationship between Judy and Kobs became more complicated. Combining excellent performance and love of Afrikaans Boolean culture with a delightful deviation from the romantic comedy formula, writer and director Henk Pretoris confirms Fanny Fury's promise of "Lobra" with another meaningful, hilarious comedy about following his dreams and finding his own.
