Philippe is the head of a fire camp in South France. Hot summer, no matter natural disasters or man-made disasters, the hidden danger of fire is everywhere, and sometimes it may break out. Master Sergeant Benedicte came to the fire camp, in the same rank as veteran Xavier in his 40s. There may be a fire crisis outside the camp at any time, and the atmosphere inside the camp becomes tense. The film focuses on the lives of these ordinary heroes: in the front line of fire, but also in the front line of life. This is the 16th feature-length film directed by Pierre Jolivet a year and a half later ("Jamais de la Vie"), focusing on the small and ordinary living and working environment. Unlike the continuous excavation and interpretation of the theme of firefighters in Hollywood, French films seldom put the life and work of firefighters on the big screen. Before that, the most famous firefighter in French film history was probably the one played by Oskar Werner in Fahrenheit 451directed by Francois Truffaut. "Les Hommes Du Feu" is released by Studio Canal Pictures.
