The film is based on the true story of Ana Willis, a woman who lives in Brooklyn who struggles with AIDS. Ana's life is full of drugs and AIDS, and she has taken on the work of helping and publicizing AIDS knowledge in the AIDS community. Ana's husband, Slick (Wendell Pierce), used to take drugs with AIDS patients. Grandma Lucille (Anna Deavere Smith) in Ana can't stand the torture and goes to Virginia. One day an AIDS infected person Amare (Evan Ross) suddenly disappeared, Ana also embarked on the road to find him.
