Humbert (James Mason James Mason), who teaches French at university, had an unforgettable experience when his first lover died, which made him still have different feelings for those youthful girls over the years. Due to the need of work, Humbert looks for housing, so he becomes acquainted with the widow Charlotte (Shelley Winters Shelley Winters) and her goblin-like daughter Lolita (Sue Lyon Hugh Leon). Charlotte was infatuated with the elegant and dignified university teacher and devoted himself to her, while Humbert was infatuated with the youthful Lolita and even married Charlotte against his will in order to stay with the spirit. He wrote all his feelings for Lolita in a diary and locked them in a drawer. Until one day Charlotte opened Pandora's box, their fate changed. This film is based on the writer Nabokov's novel of the same name.
