In the remote Nordic region, Stockholm, Sweden, is covered in white and cold. 12-year-old Oscar (K å re Hedebrant Kyle Hedblant) lives in a single-parent family. He is alone and bullied at school. When he gets home, he secretly collects newspaper clippings about all kinds of murders, or vents his anger in a tree late at night with a knife. The new child Ellie (Lina Leandersson Lena Nadelson) walks into the life of the Oscars, they gradually become friends, and gradually have love. And just then, Oscar stumbled upon a creepy secret about Ellie. The film is adapted from the Swedish novelist John Ajvide Lindqvist's 2004 best seller of the same name and won the top award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2008, the Best Nordic Film Award at the Gothenberg Film Festival in 2008 and the Kodak Best Cinematography Award.
