Man on Wire

Man on Wire 7.8

French acrobatic celebrity Philippe Petty (Paul McGill Paul McGill) performs a still-amazing feat between the 110th-story (412m) towers of the World Trade Center in New York on Aug. 7, 1974, putting up a steel cable across the sky and performing a bold 45-minute performance. No one would have thought that Philip, a shy 25-year-old boy, with the help of his friends, carefully investigated and planned, broke through layers of hurdles, and finally completed this extremely dangerous and crazy "art crime" unnoticed. Philip knelt or lay down on the tightrope, walking slowly and dancing. The film lens delicately captured the extremely thrilling minutes and seconds of that year, and vividly repeated the scene, coupled with a variety of techniques such as character interviews, which made this documentary between the World Trade Center after 9 / 11 in the United States very precious. The biographical documentary Man on the tightrope, co-produced by BBC, Discovery and UK Film Council, won the 81st Academy Award-Best feature Film in 2009 and the 62nd British Film and Television Arts in 2009.
