The story takes place in the bustling metropolis of New York, where Marty (Ernest Borgnine Ernest Borgnine) is a butcher who lives in a butcher shop. He has no handsome appearance or wealth. The only thing he has is a kind heart shining like gold. In life, Marty, who lives in neighborhoods inhabited by the poor of the middle and lower classes, is often looked down upon and discriminated against by others, all of which Marty can only endure in silence. By chance, Marty meets a female teacher named Clara (Becky Blair Betsy Blair). Like Marty, Clara becomes inferiority complex and introverted because of a failed relationship, and the two come together because of similar circumstances. However, the gap between them is huge, can their true love finally overcome this gap and achieve positive results?
