Hillary Swank and Brenda Bryce play American interior designer Mary and British housewife Martha, respectively, who have nothing in common except that they have lost their son. Mary took her young son (Lux Hane-Jadan) to Africa to explore, but the latter was killed by malaria, which made Mary fall into deep remorse. Her marriage to her husband (Frank Kirillo) is also in jeopardy. In Mozambique, Mary accidentally met Martha, whose adult son, Sam Krafflin, also died of malaria when he was a teacher there. The two very different women formed a solid friendship and devoted themselves to the humanitarian work of malaria control in Africa. With selfless dedication, two once sad and desperate mothers found themselves again, showing the world that even the most ordinary people can make a difference and make the world a better place.
