In New York in 1937, 17-year-old Richard Samuel wanted to be an actor and was tired of school life. In a coincidental opportunity, he met the stage director Orson Wells and joined Wells in the rehearsal of the Shakespeare play Julius Caesar. In the crew, he met Sonia, who was also eager for the stage. Richard fell in love with Sonia, but when she confessed her love, Sonia said she would like to be with Wells. He finally realized that Sonia was willing to have sex with Wales in order to realize her stage dream. Richard had a big fight with Wells and was expelled from the troupe.
