French drama. Director Annemarie Yasir. Starring Suel Hamad and Saleh Bakrie. Soraya, 28, grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She decided to return to Palestine, the hometown of her grandparents. She wanted to get back money from her grandparents' account that had been frozen by the bank, but the bank refused. She became acquainted with a Palestinian youth, Emad, who was bent on leaving Palestine. This film participated in the "one kind of concern" section of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. The debut of the Pakistani director Ammari Jasir examines the Palestinian xenophobic complex with the story of Soraya's search for roots. It is extremely sharp and emotional, full of family and national pain, as deep as the love of the hero and heroine.
